Backcountry Trust
Moderate detailIndependent trust established by Federated Mountain Clubs, NZ Deerstalkers Association and Trail Fund NZ to support the restoration and maintenance of huts and tracks on public conservation land. Has funded the restoration of over 300 huts and 2,000 km of walking and mountain bike tracks. Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000 for materials, digger hire, transport and signage.
