Moderate detailOne of the longest-running philanthropic trusts in the Waikato, established in 1924 by farmer Dan Bryant. Focuses on enhancing human welfare in the Waikato region, with current strategic priority on youth and education. Funds not-for-profit community groups working with vulnerable or disadvantaged people to address inequity. Has donated more than $13.6 million to nearly 500 organisations since 1965. Board meets six times per year (February, April, June, August, October, December). Also operates the Bryant Retreat for Women at Whaingaroa/Raglan.
