1. Application Guidelines
All applications must be submitted on the Grey District Community-Led Vibrancy Fund application form or online.
Funding will only be provided for projects that are held within the Grey District.
We especially welcome and encourage projects that take place on Grey District places or spaces, or involve community-wide events, as these align closely with our goals for broad public benefit.
Preference will be given to projects that enhance the work that will be done through council-aligned revitalisation projects, and community-wide events.
Applications must show alignment with the Council’s vision for the district to become a Thriving, Connected and Resilient community.
Most grants will be under $5000.
Applications must include your organisation’s financial report.
Projects must be coordinated by established community groups, clubs, or associations.
The project work will be done by the relevant community group.
2. Grant Evaluation Criteria
Will the grant directly benefit our community spaces and events within the Grey District?
Will this improve or enhance a community space, or is this a community event?
Will this help bring new life to our communities and enhance community wellbeing?
Will this grow community ownership of our places through the contribution of volunteers?
Will this strengthen the relationship between Council and the community?
Applications must show alignment with the Council’s vision for the district to Thriving, Connected and Resilient community.
Has the organisation received, or have they applied, for funds from other organisations for the same project? If so, how much?
What other bodies are there to specifically cater for funding this project? e.g. Creative New Zealand, Lottery Grants Commission, COGS, Ministry of Social Development funding, Ministry of Education, heritage organisations, Health NZ, Department of Conservation?
How much of their own funds does the organisation have to put towards, this request/project?
Is the organisation a non-profit body and able to accurately account for any funds granted?
Has the organisation supplied all information on the application form, including a set of accounts?
