Priority will be given to sites, items and trees listed for protection in the Selwyn District Plan. Proposals that include protective measures, such as the establishment of a heritage covenant, will also be considered.

Common mistakes to avoid

Applications for work that has already been completed will not be funded. Costs for modern upgrades, such as new kitchens or bathrooms, are not eligible.

Projects focusing on maintaining or enhancing the heritage character of listed items are more likely to succeed.

Is the item or site listed for protection in the Selwyn District Plan?

Preference is given to applications for projects related to items already protected by the District Plan.

Significance to the local community

Explain the significance of the item to the local community and how the project will educate the community about heritage or cultural issues.
