What makes a strong application
Applications that benefit the public generally have preference. Funding multiple buildings rather than concentrating on one project is favoured. Evidence demonstrating exceptional heritage value can justify bulk funding exceptions to the typical $5,000 limit.
Application structure
Eligibility Criteria
Building must be identified in the District Plan as having heritage value. Funding is for external appearance or structural work only. Preference given to work benefiting the public and spreading assistance across multiple buildings.
Application Process
Submit written application on the prescribed form to Council's Planning Unit. Decision made by Chief Executive, Group Manager Regulatory Services, or District Planning Manager. Once works are completed and sighted, apply for refund of your allocation. Applications can be made at any time.
